Amy Kamarainen is a visiting scholar at the New York Hall of Science and co-directs the EcoMOBILE project (http://ecomobile.gse.harvard.edu/) funded through a National Science Foundation grant to the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Her prior experience includes work on EcoMUVE (ecological multi-user virtual environment), an Institute of Education Sciences-funded project testing the utility of MUVE technologies to promote ecosystem science learning in middle school science classrooms. Amy research focuses on examining mobile technologies that bridge formal and informal learning experiences to model authentic scientific practices and promote understanding of scientific data, systems thinking, and ecosystem concepts.
