About Me:

Ms. Kennedy has worked as an English teacher, college instructor, an Adjunct Professor of Law and an Entertainment and New Media executive before opening LEMA in 2010. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan, a Masters of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law. She earned her Teaching Credential from UCLA, and has credentials in both English and Social Science. Ms. Kennedy held senior positions in the Entertainment and Media Arts industries, at MCA/Universal Studios, Universal Pictures and Universal Television, Sony Family Entertainment, and Microsoft Enhanced Television. Beth Kennedy was CEO for Kaizen Heron Group, which produced interactive entertainment content for America Online, which was honored by The Kennedy Center's Imagination Celebration, and for clients such as Sony, Jenny Craig, General Motors Distance Learning Group and Microsoft’s Enhanced Television Group. Ms. Kennedy was the keynote speaker at MIDIA, and visiting professor of interactive media in Australia; presented at ATAS, MPAA, NAB, CES, DGA, SAG, WIF and other entertainment organizations, guilds and unions. She was Mayor Bradley’s “Film Czar,” representing the City of Los Angeles to the entertainment industry, and the ombudsperson for the entertainment industry to the city. Ms. Kennedy was a Vice President of Women in Film for many years, and was responsible for creating the first Women in Film website, graphics and seminars for members on New Media. She was a founding member of the Television Academy's New Media Peer Group.
