About Me:
Dr. Scott is a corporate woman, a learner, an educator, an entrepreneur, a volunteer, a family woman, and she is a passionate dreamer. She is a former Wall Street banker with 25 years experience at Deutsche Bank and Manufacturer’s Hanover Trust Company as a certified project manager; a trained Six Sigma Black Belt; an operations manager; a mentoring and a corporate social responsibility leader. Dr. Scott is a lifelong learner earning her doctorate from The George Washington University in 2011. She is a Leadership New Jersey fellow. She is an adjunct professor at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT); Essex County College; and a visiting professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Dr. Scott founded and she is the CEO of WeEmpower Partnership LLC and Making A Difference through Entrepreneurship LLC (M.A.D.E). She develops and facilitates job and workforce readiness programs for the Urban League and the Department of Labor; she facilitates entrepreneurship technical assistance programs for Brick City Development Corporation (BCDC), and entrepreneurship programs for Link Community School, Rutgers Future Scholars Program, Citizen Schools, Rutgers R U Ready for Work Programs; and Garden State Urban Farms. Michele also makes a difference serving as a volunteer in the community, K-12 education, the arts, urban agriculture, and serving as a youth and adult mentor. She also volunteers for the Clinton Global Initiative. She serves on the boards of the Greater Newark Enterprise Corporation and the Harrison Park Towers Cooperative where she served as treasurer. She serves on the NJIT School of Management Advisory Board, the Alumni Board and on the University Advancement Committee. She has been honored with the Ralph Stone Servant Leadership Award at The George Washington University and honored by the Fairleigh Dickinson Multicultural Council. Michele was born in Waycross, Georgia, reared in Jersey City and she has lived in her Harrison Park Tower Cooperative in East Orange for over 25 years. She is the proud aunt of Nikhil, Niyana and Victoria; loving sister of Anthony and Candy and still influenced greatly by her parents, the late Gwendolyn and Wardell Scott. She is an avid college football and basketball fan; she has a passion for universities and colleges; politics; music and classic movies. It is still helpful to dream. Michele aspires to work with Beyonce, Hillary Clinton, Venus Williams, Meryl Streep and Robin Roberts.
