About Me:

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. Dr. Gaudino holds a Doctorate in Education Administration and Policy Studies from The University of Pittsburgh, Specialist degree in Education Administration from Wayne State University Detroit, and Masters and Bachelor’s degrees from The University of Michigan in music education and organ performance. Dr. Gaudino holds certification as superintendent, assistant superintendent, central office supervisory, principal, elementary education, reading specialist, and music education in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Dr. Gaudino is as an assistant professor at West Liberty University and teaches graduate courses in education and education leadership. She has also served as department chair, Coordinator of Clinical Practice, and Director of Professional Development Schools. She is the founder and editor of The Excellence in Education Journal (www.excellenceineducationjournal.org) an open access, refereed, online journal that promotes and disseminates international scholarly writing about excellent practices in all aspects of education. The aim is to share these excellent practices to benefit the education of children and adults worldwide. Dr. Gaudino has presented nationally and internationally on topic including: teacher preparation, induction, mentoring, professional development and evaluation international education; and music literacy methods. She is published in The Field Experience Journal, Journal of the American Association of School Personnel Administrators, the Global Education Conference, and Classroom 2.0; serves as a consultant for the West Virginia Department of Education on the topic of teacher evaluation; is a member of the international advisory board for the Global Education Conference; and serves as a reviewer for The Journal of International Education and Leadership, The Field Experience Journal, and the American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education. Together with her husband David Gaudino, Ed.D., Dr. Gaudino formed GlobalBestLLC (www.myglobalbest.com) to establish alliances worldwide to promote international internships, study and travel, and research opportunities. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Gaudino served as Assistant Superintendent for the 32 Catholic schools in the State of West Virginia. She oversaw federal title funds, led the development of a teacher induction and mentoring program for beginning teachers, evaluated school administrators, and implemented a $300,000 grant in the arts. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Gaudino was a principal at the Ellis School, a PK-12 independent school for girls in Pittsburgh, PA. During her tenure, she raised standardized test scores to the top 5% nationally, developed and implemented a process for teacher evaluation, implemented school wide curriculum mapping, and led the fundraising, development and construction of a preschool building and program. As a teacher, Dr. Gaudino taught in the South Redford/Detroit Public Schools. With sponsorship from the National Education Association and Rotary International, in Dr. Gaudino was the first school music teacher from the U.S.A. to teach at the music conservatory in Florence, Italy. Dr. Gaudino resides in Wheeling, WV with husband, Dr. David Gaudino, and son, Billy. Their hobbies include downhill skiing, swimming, hiking, gardening, and watching international television.
