About Me:
I am currently a maths and science teacher in a Girls' Grammar School in the UK. I am interested in promoting STEM careers and new technology in the classroom. I am one of 10 UK teachers piloting a European STEM project called inGenious. inGenious is the European Coordinating Body in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education. It is a joint initiative launched by European Schoolnet and the European Roundtable of Industrialists (ERT) aiming to reinforce young European's interest in science education and careers and thus address anticipated future skills gaps within the European Union. Through a strategic partnership between major industries and Ministries of Education, inGenious has the objective of increasing the links between science education and careers, by involving up to 1,000 classrooms throughout Europe. inGenious @inGenious_eu (http://ingenious-science.eu/) I entered students this year in a UK competition called 'Teen Tech awards' and I am very proud to say we won in 3 categories. International Collaboration, Healthcare Category and we were the overall winners. We enjoyed a visit to Buckingham Palace to collect our prize from HRH The Duke of York in June 2013.
