About Me:
Dr. Ethan Allen is Director of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) at Pacific Resources for Education and Learning (PREL), oversees the development and growth of PREL’s STEM education programs throughout Hawaii and the other U.S.-affiliated Pacific islands. Dr. Allen previously directed diverse science education improvement programs at the University of Washington, Institute for Systems Biology (Washington), and at the Teachers Academy for Math and Science. Earlier in his career, he served as Exhibit Developer for the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. He received his undergraduate degree in biology from the State University of New York at Binghamton, his PhD in neuroscience from the University of Oregon, and did postdoctoral research both there and at the University of Texas at Austin.
