About Me:
Lisa Wadors Verne is the Educational Program Manager for Benetech and its literacy services including Bookshare. She has her MA in Early Childhood Special Education from Santa Clara University and Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of California, Berkeley and San Francisco State University, Joint Doctoral program. She has particular expertise in Special Education Policy and Law, specifically inclusion of children with special needs in typically developing classrooms. She also has experience in and out of the classroom teaching students of all ages from preschool-graduate school as a special education teacher, adjunct faculty at San Francisco State University and a Special Olympics volunteer. As a parent herself, she is particularly interested in supporting parents of children with special needs.
