About Me:
Marcella Klein Williams has been instrumental in the creation and launch of the Power of Discovery: STEM2Initiative that is mobilizing a broad coalition of stakeholders working together to deliver high-quality STEM learning during the critical out-of-school time hours. As Chief Education Officer she has joined the national 100Kin10 campaign to train 100,000 STEM teachers in ten years. She is now working with a team of visionaries to draft CSLNet’s STEM Teacher Pathways Initiative. Working hand-in-hand with the Power of Discovery, this new initiative focuses on out-of-school time programs as a dynamic environment for clinical practice for pre-service STEM teachers. Klein Williams’ work has helped to increase the reach of the Regional STEM Network by identifying additional state assets to join the collaboration. These networks engage students, teachers, business and industry, and community partners to address regional needs in STEM education. Prior to joining CSLNet, Klein Williams was a Director at the Ventura County Office of Education. As Lead for Region 8, she provided technical assistance to after school programs serving more than 21,000 children in over 50 districts across 250 school sites in four counties. For more than 15 years she was a teacher, most recently in the Ventura Unified School District. Marcella Klein Williams has a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from California Lutheran University and holds both administrative and multiple subject credentials.
