About Me:

I am the Learning and Pastoral Coordinator at Parramatta Marist High School, Sydney, Australia. I look after the professional development of staff in Problem Based Learning and the academic and pastoral development of senior students. We use project (Years 7-10, school ages 11-16) and problem (Year 11, school ages 16-17) based learning pedagogies as our instructional practices across all faculties. We are part of the NewTech Network (the only one outside the USA) and work closely with them developing Project Based Learning in the middle school. We also have very close relationship with Republic Polytechnic, Singapore, and have adopted their 'One-day, One-Problem' approach in Year 11.

  • Of course, Focus on Problem based learning. Focus on how you teach modern history; your teaching is interdisciplinary and integrates STEM or collaborate with your engineering and science teachers to present examples of problem based learning. May be you can get some of your students to co-present. Just a thought

  • Adam:  Welcome.  I encourage you to submit a session proposal.  Also encourage your teachers to join the network as well.  I look forward to learning more from you.
