About Me:
Professor Moustapha Diack is affiliated with the doctoral program in Science/Mathematics Education (SMED), Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and CEO of the Atlantic Group of West Africa. Professor Diack is Past-President (2006/2009) of the Louisiana Academy of Sciences and serve as co-editor of the MERLOT Faculty development editorial board. Diack is recipient of the 2008 MERLOT (Multimedia Education resources for Learning and Online Teaching) International eLearning Innovation Award and the 2010 MERLOT Global Leadership Award. He is co-founding Director of the MERLOT Africa Network and Executive chair of the eLearning/eSante for Africa conference. Dr. Diack is a Diplo Foundation Fellow for Internet Governance and Access to Knowledge Research and served as eLearning consultant for organizations such as the Berkman Center for Internet and Society, Harvard Law School and the Thurgood Marshall College Funds (TMCF). Professor Diack’s current research and interests are in the areas of learning design & Virtual Learning Environments (VLE) for Cyber learning. Professor Diack is a strong advocate of the Open Education Resource (OER) Movement and the Open Access (OA) to Scientific Literature Movement and their adoption in the Global South. Diack was the organizer of the African Forums on Open Education & Open Access (2007-2010) before tacking the leadership role in the establishment of the ELES Global Network and its Global Conference, ELES FOR AFRICA (ELES4A) CONFERENCE.
